Today’s Democratic Party does not fully reflect its voters, especially at the local level. Young, progressive Democrats are too often discouraged or suppressed from running for office. My goal is to help foster a local Democratic Party that truly welcomes everyone. I believe in a party that actively engages with its community and encourages people from all backgrounds and across the ideological spectrum to step up and run. Too many voters have lost faith in local offices, even though these races are often the most impactful. If we want to build a Democratic Party that works for all, we must invest in and support the future of our party. Most people don’t even know what the MCDCC is. So what is it? The governing body of the county’s largest and most influential political organization. Its members are elected by you, the people. It’s time to raise awareness, increase transparency, and engage everyone so we can build a stronger, more equitable Democratic Party. The local Democratic machine is going to put up everything they can to prevent me from winning. (Including powerful former legislators).
